So, there I was, bored out of my mind, quarantined, working from home. Doing my History work. The first question was, "Give 5 'things' that you would like to know about History" (that have not actually been discovered). Then I started thinking. If you have read my previous post you will know that philosophy plays a big part in my entertainment department. And then. I almost exploded because I realised that I had solved the paradox well-known to most philosophers: The "Pinocchio Paradox".
In case you don't know what the Pinocchio Paradox is, I will explain it.
So this psycho decided to go on a mass confusion spilling spree by inventing the Pinocchio Paradox. He put half the the philosopher population to sleep, luckily no one died.
The Paradox states that if Pinocchio says, "my nose will grow now", will it grow or stay the same? This is a difficult one because if the nose does not grow, that means that Pinocchio was telling the truth; but he was actually lying because he stated the his nose would grow, but it didn't.
Now please don't die of confusion! I am about to tell you the answer.
Pinocchio's nose only grows when he is lying intentionally. He doesn't actually know if his nose will grow or not meaning that nothing will change. This fact leads to another Pinocchio-related philosophy where people thought that Pinocchio could verify certain scientific discoveries or hypotheses. If his nose grew the discovery would be false. However, as stated earlier, this could not work. Again, Pinocchio's nose will only grow when he is intentionally telling a lie, but how is he to know the main cause of Coronavirus? He himself has no clue, so his nose cannot help.
This is my answer. Hope this saves lives.
